WHAT WE’LL DO

This is not an ordinary food tour in Rome! During this tour we’ll take you to the very places where we ourselves eat and shop everyday. And we actually mean it! Because this food tour takes place in our neighborhood: Monteverde.

We used to do food tours in Trastevere, which is a great location for food. However we felt like that was something too ON the beaten path.. And if you know us from social media, you probably know how much we strive everyday to give you an INSIDER’S look on Rome.

And so we thought of giving you a REAL TASTE of what food in Rome is like for us, by taking you to:

• the local market where we shop fresh local produce from family-run businesses
• a local artisanal pastry shop where we have our typical Roman breakfast
• the historical deli of the neighborhood since generations
• the local bakery which doesn’t even have a sign above the door, because it is an “institution” in the neighborhood!
• one of our favorite gelato shops and its laboratory where the gelato is made fresh everyday

In the neighborhood of Monteverde you won’t find famous food chains, but just local family-run businesses. You will see the real side of Rome away from the tourists’ paths in a more chilled environment. A food tour in a local neighborhood means getting higher quality food than the touristy areas of Rome.

During this tour we’ll also share the tips you’ll need to recognize the tourist traps when having food on your own. For example, did you know that not all the gelatos are the same? Did you come all the way to Rome to not taste the real thing? Sure you didn’t!
