• Trastevere is one of Rome’s most charming neighborhoods, and during this tour, we’ll explore its lesser-known side — peaceful, authentic, and free from crowds, even during peak tourist season

• We’ll take a relaxed stroll through Trastevere’s winding alleyways, uncovering its hidden gems — jaw-dropping places tucked behind unassuming doors and façades that most visitors completely overlook
• For instance, we’ll step into an empty church and casually come across a breathtaking statue by Bernini. Then, with special access granted by the resident nuns, we’ll descend into the underground crypt and ancient ruins of the Church of Santa Cecilia — located five meters beneath street level

• You’ll also learn about Rome’s famous “lasagna” of history — layers of civilizations stacked atop one another over centuries
• We’ll continue to the Tiber Island, once used in ancient times to isolate people during epidemics, and then walk on the most ancient bridge of Rome, where Julius Caesar and Cleopatra walked too
• We’ll end in the historic Jewish Ghetto, where we’ll see the marks of 300 years of seclusion and the resilience of the community over the centuries
