European Heritage Days – September 28th and 29th
Two days filled with guided tours and special openings of museums and cultural centers, to highlight the cultural heritage throughout Europe.
On this occasion many museums in Rome will be open also in the evening, and the entry ticket will have the symbolic cost of €1.

Romics – International festival of comics, animations, cinema and gaming – October 3rd to 6th
This is a great exhibition that takes place every year since 2001, dedicated to comics, animation, cinema and gaming.
If you are into one of those things, or if you just love being surrounded by high levels of creativity, this is an event you can’t miss!
It’s four days of shows, exhibits, conferences, previews and Cosplays contests (“cosplay” stands for “costume play”).
The 33rd edition of Romics will take place from October 3rd to October 6th 2024.

Festival del Cinema di Roma – October 16th to 27th
This year the Rome Film Fest edition will take place from October 16th to October 27th 2024. Red carpets, contests and projections, this is such a glam event that takes place in the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

The Rose Garden of Rome
The Rose Garden of Rome reopens its gates for the fall blooming in October for about two weeks (dates not confirmed yet, usually starting mid October). During these two weeks you’ll be able to admire and smell the beautiful roses in their fall blooming. The rose collection includes some of the most rare and ancient species. No booking required, free entry.
Exhibition “Cento Pittori Via Margutta”
This October (dates still to be confirmed, usually at the end of the month) there will be the 122nd exhibition of the 100 painters of via Margutta. This beautiful street is few steps away from Spanish Steps and this exhibit is one of the most traditional things to do in Rome this November. Via Margutta is also known as the “street of the artists” and its picturesque landscape houses many small shops of marble artisans, painters, collectors, tapestries and so on.
During these days, painters will showcase their works in the beautiful street of via Margutta. Entry is free.
Procession of the Sacconi Rossi brotherhood at the Tiber Island – November 2nd
On November 2nd, the Day of the Dead, on the Tiber Island you’ll be able to join the procession of the Sacconi Rossi brotherhood. What is it?
The Sacconi Rossi were a confraternity characterized by their dinstinctive red hoods. This confraternity was born in 1700s and established their headquarter on the Tiber Island, where they are still today. And where their crypt is!
The Sacconi Rossi used to bury their confraternity members in the crypt below their headquarter. Additionally, on occasion of the Day of the Dead on November 2nd, they also used to collect the dead bodies they found in the Tiber river and leave them along the banks of the river until their family members would recognize them.
This procession still happens today (without the collection of the bodies, of course!) on November 2nd and it starts at 5:30PM in the church of San Giovanni Calibita (right next to the pharmacy) which is open only on this day during the year.
The members of the confraternity wear their red hoods and you can follow them walking down the banks of the Tiber river with candles while praying for the dead. We’ll share more details on how to participate closer to the date.
Romaeuropa Festival – September 4th to November 17th
RomaEuropa festival is an international festival dedicated to dance, music and theatre that will take place in about 20 venues in Rome, from September 4th to November 17th.
