Just a short walk from the Pantheon, a quiet building hides an optical illusion most people walk right past.
To find it, head to the Church of the Gesù and look to the right: that’s the entrance to the Casa Professa, where Saint Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits, lived and died.
After a devastating flood, the building was rebuilt, but his rooms were preserved in their original location and turned into a small sanctuary.
Later, the corridor was decorated by Andrea Pozzo, a master of optical illusion.
