WHAT WE’LL DO

It was the morning of March 15this, 44BC. Caesar wakes up after a restless night. He had nightmares, the ceiling of his house collapsing over him. He turns to Calpurnia, his wife, she had nightmares too. Perhaps she is unsettled by rumors that someone wants Caesar dead.

As Caesar prepares for the day, Calpurnia begs him to stay home. She has a terrible feeling. Caesar begins to think she may be right. After all, a few days before, while conducting a religious ceremony, the animal he sacrificed was found with no heart inside. That was interpreted by the worst of the signs. He is not a superstitious man, but that felt quite unsettling even to Caesar.
“Maybe you’re right, I won’t go to the senate today”. Calpurnia feels a wave of relief and the hint of a smile appears on her face.
But then there is a knock at the door. It’s Brutus, he tells Caesar the senators are waiting for him, the agenda is full of important matters.

Caesar looks at Brutus, one of the people he trusts most in his life, almost like a son. And he decides Brutus is right: he cannot miss the Senate that day.
What he doesn’t know is that Brutus is also the organizer of the conspiracy and that the plan is already in motion.
Ignoring Calpurnia’s worried gaze, Caesar steps outside and closes the door behind him. The last walk of Julius Caesar has just begun.

During this tour we’ll walk from the location where Caesar used to live, by the Roman Forum, until the exact location where he was assassinated, Largo Argentina.
This is a private tour. Fewer people is better, less chances of conspirators!

 Verified Excellent way to experience a different side of Rome
This tour took us through the neighborhoods of Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto. Our guide, Valera, showed us hidden gems such as a Bernini and a convent that houses the remains of a saint. She brought to life the history of the area and her stories inspired us and reminded us the importance of remembering history. We loved this tour so much we signed up for another tour from Live Virtual Guides to visit Rome at Sunset. What I loved about this particular walking tour is the expertise of the guide, the small group, and the well curated sights that we would not have visited on our own.

 Verified Rome has so much to offer that we normally don’t look for.
A fabulous experience. We learnt so much history in areas that we would have probably not visited. Walking around these places without a guide would mean you miss most of what happened here. Highly recommended.
