🔸The district of Testaccio in Rome is quite an off-the-beaten path area of the city and it still preserves a lot of the truly Roman vibes.

🔸Moreover, Testaccio is the very place where some of the most traditional Roman dishes were born, such as the Coda alla Vaccinara! (Watch me trying this for the first time EVER in this video! 🙈)

🔸Let me know in the comments if you liked this video and what you’re dying to try on your next trip to Rome! 😜👇🏼

🔸Here’s a hidden gem near Piazza Navona in Ro 🔸Here’s a hidden gem near Piazza Navona in Rome: Palazzo Altemps!

🔸Palazzo Altemps used to be a noble residential palace. One of its owners was the Cardinal Altemps, which is where its name comes from

🔸The Cardinal Altemps in the 1500s decorated the palace with a lot of beautiful frescoes (have you seen the balcony?? 🤩)

🔸And here he also stored his incredible collection of ancient Roman sculptures

🔸Today we can say Palazzo Altemps is a collection of collections. In fact here we can find not only the Altemps collection, but also the collections of other Roman noble families that through the centuries lost the property of such treasures

🔸Some of our favourite highlights of Palazzo Altemps:

✨the balcony
✨the Suicide Gaul
✨the Gian Ludovisi sarcophagus (so ornate that it looks unreal!)
✨the endless series of ancient divinities statues
✨the fragments of frescoes of the ancient Roman houses

🔸Have you ever been to Palazzo Altemps? Let me know your thought in the comments!

🔸Did you know this beautiful hidden gem is part of the @museonazionaleromano?
This means that with ONE single ticket, you can visit FOUR incredible sites!

Find out which ones here:

🔸Let the show begin! 😜 🔸I am telling you 🔸Let the show begin! 😜

🔸I am telling you this right from the stage of this fabulous theatre:

📣When in Rome, you should definitely plan a DAY-TRIP to visit the Royal Palace of Caserta!

🔸What you see here is the court theatre of the Royal Palace (Reggia di Caserta in Italian), nearby Naples

🔸When building his incredible palace, the King of Naples, Carlo di Borbone, decided to include a theatre which would be exclusively dedicated to the people living in the court

🔸The theatre was inaugurated in 1769 after 10 years of construction works!

🔸As always, the details are my favorite part 🤩

🔸Each and every balcony has little angels painted among garlands, and each of them is different from the other..

🔸Then in the center you can see the royal balcony, covered up with a fabulous canopy with a crown on top 👑

🔸And the even cooler thing is: behind the backstage there is a portal which opens towards the park, to give a natural and suggestive background to the plays! 😍

🔸The theatre was probably my favorite thing of the whole palace. Together with the English Garden (which I am going to share soon! 😉)

🔸Practical tip: getting there can be tricky if you don’t have a car. However tour operators offer day-trips from Rome which include transportation and tickets. You can find this package in the link our bio 😉
