For the fourth year in a row, the city is organizing a big free NYE concert in the most spectacular location in Rome for New Years Eve: the Circus Maximus.

On New Year’s Day there should be loads of free entrances to museums and archaeological sites.

New Year’s Eve 2026 concert in Circo Massimo

Would there be any better location to say hello to the New Year?

The New Year’s Eve 2026 in Rome happens with a free big concert in Circo Massimo.

Three Italian artists were confirmed for the concert: Alessandra AmorosoFabri Fibra and Tananai.

The concert will start at 9:30PM. After the midnight toast, the party will continue with a DJ set by Dimensione Suono Roma.

Buses and trams will operate until 9pm. The metro will remain open until 2:30AM, and after that time there will be night buses.

It will not be possible to bring glass bottles, alcohol and fireworks in the area of the concert. There will be checks before you enter the area of the concert.

Where to see the fireworks from?

At midnight there will be fireworks all over the city. The best view points to see them are two of the highest panoramic points of Rome: the Gianicolo hill and the Pincio terrace in Villa Borghese, from the top of the Spanish Steps, a rooftop bar, or any viewing point high enough to see the skyline of Rome.

At midnight there is usually a beautiful and good-vibes atmosphere everywhere in the city, with so many people celebrating and cheering for the countdown, which makes going out to see the fireworks totally worth it!

Capodarte 2026 – New Year’s Day in the Museums

Every year on New Year’s Day, the city museums are open for free to everyone.

And while you are free to roam around the museums, there will also be special events taking place in them, such as concerts, performances, talks and conferences.

It is a tradition we never want to miss. Our favorite locations for New Year’s Day are the Musei Capitolini (don’t miss the terrace of the tabularium overlooking the Roman forum, even better if at sunset time!) and the Markets of Trajan.
