Like many other hidden gems in Rome, it’s really close to a popular sight. Start from Campo de’ Fiori and walk along Palazzo della Cancelleria, but keep your eyes open, no distractions allowed. This place is in fact so hidden that you can easily miss it. When you see the sign “Arco degli Acetari” it’s time to go in. Forget about being in the center of the city. You are now in a village inside the city, where time stopped some time ago.
This is by far one of the most photogenic corners of the city. And a magical way to surprise someone special 😉
From the outside, you’d never expect this, here’s a glimpse inside.

When in Campo de’ Fiori in Rome, walk this way. You’re in for a little cozy corner you wouldn’t expect to find in the city center. Take Via del Pellegrino and enter this gate. If you come here during the day, you’ll find the gates open. A few steps in, and you’ll find yourself in this little corner surrounded by medieval houses. This place is called Arco degli Acquetari, and this was probably the deposit of those who sold a special water in the market of Campo de’ Fiori, a water that comes from a spring in the north of Rome, the Acqua Acetosa. And that’s where the name comes from.
📍You’ll find it in Via del Pellegrino, 19
